I give it a passing grade. I liked the romance in the center of it, and forgive it for being a little sitcommy and hamfisted elsewhere.

Be forewarned: The admissions guy doesn't appear to like his work that much.

Decent grade from me as well, mainly for pulling off the unlikely young/old romance pairing with believability. Some of the other sub-plots rang less authentic but weren't terrible.

Props to Elizabeth Olsen as the college chick, both for being a good actress and for not adopting the heroin chic look of her sisters; to perennial pro Richard Jenkins as the main character's ex-professor/mentor; and a decent job as well from TV star boy (Josh Radnor from 'How I Met Your Mother') for tackling the writer/director/actor trifecta.

Not a great flick, but solid.
