What's the Most Wildly Enthusiastic Quote?

“I knew this was where I wanted to be. It made the decision pretty easy. I think that my friends and family knew that putting this uniform on was important to me, start to finish.” 1 votes

“I never wanted to put a doubt in anyone’s mind that this is where I wanted to be. I never wanted to put another uniform on, and I’m happy I’m wearing this one. To me there was no thought of putting on another uniform.” 0 votes

“I want to win. I want to be remembered like those ’86 guys are, like the ’69 guys. That’s how I want to be remembered. Ultimately you want to be a winner. That’s my goal.” 6 votes

“I didn’t sign back here to lose. I think that with the plan that Sandy and his staff have moving forward with the commitment from ownership that not only are we going to get this thing turned around, but we’re going to win. After I heard the conviction, the plan moving forward, I was all in.” 3 votes

“I'll be there for you / These five words I swear to you / When you breathe I want to be the air for you / I'll be there for you” 0 votes

I'd like to thank David Wright, for bringing his wildly enthusiastic A game to Memphis.

Nashville, but whatever. Someone has to be excited for the new season.

I'm apparently not wildly enthusiastic enough about Tennessee.

I shouldn't have screwn that up, as it's Dickey's hometown.

To me there was no thought of putting on another uniform. Not this one, actually. It's blue. We've never worn this one before. I'm speaking metaphorically, of course. I'm even counting whatever Negro League uniform they have us wear during the season, or even some futuristic crap some sponsor cooks up. Is this what the blue jerseys are made of? It feels pretty cheesy. I bet this isn't even be a real uniform top. I bet they got it at Sports Authority, those cheap bastards. I ask for more than Johan, and what do I get? A lousy half-million more. Why, I paid more then that for Molly's implants. Sonofabitch. I'm stuck here for eight more years? EIGHT MORE YEARS? What the fuck did I do? That's it. Get me Ned Colletti on the phone. I'm outta here.”

That doesn't sound enthusiastic at all.

Re: What's the Most Wildly Enthusiastic Quote?

I met with Jeff, Wilpon down in Miami the last series of the regular season. We were going to go out to a nice restaurant, have a nice dinner and just talk about what the negotiations would be like. Well the nice restaurants were closed so we went to this burger and beer joint down in Miami. We sat there and I was as brutally honest with him as I could be. He was honest with me which I really appreciated. I had some very difficult questions to ask him. He answered them to the best that he could and that kind of got the ball rolling

Did Loria get to the nice restaurants too? I cannot picture Jeff Wilpon in a burger and beer joint.

hell, it was probably THE burger and beer joint. What do you think they had?

I'd love to know what those brutally honest questions were, as well as the answers.

Probably "Are you fucking broke?" and variations. Jeff ordered the $125 burger and all was good.

"Jeff, seriously... is that really your hair?"

"Your sister-in-law: how nuts is she? Just between us, Jeff?"

"Your official bio claiming you actually played a little minor league ball... how were you hoping to get away with that? They have this thing called the internet these days, Jeff."

"Seriously, though, your sister-in-law, doesn't she have some money that can help you out? You can't be that crazy and walking the streets unless you're crazy rich."

"What time is it? Yeah, I think a fifth round sounds good. Did you wet yourself when you saw the Marlins ballpark?"

DW: jeff, i'm glad you came to meet me here. now, listen, i'd love to come back to the team and take your daddy's money and be as excited as implausibly possible, but before i can commit to anything, i just need to know...

JW: well we really want you back. anything you need to know, just ask.

DW: ok... [nervoulsy sticks tongue out side of mouth]

JW: what is it?

DW: it's just... your hair... what IS that?
