Comedian Mike Birbiglia introduces his story of his sleepwalking problems to another medium. For a comedy film, it's kind of depressing. It's not bad, but if you've heard the story on This American Life or The Moth, there's not really much reason to watch it.

I just finished watching this on Netflix. I do know Birbiglia's stuff, but I liked the movie anyway. Some really good performances, especially by Lauren Ambrose, James Rebhorn and Cristin Milioti (Girl!).

I'm not sure what's to root for with this guy. He's a timid manchild trying to weaselly escape from a relationship that is more than he deserves... into what?

Good points. It's interesting that the ex-girlfriend comes off looking better than anyone else in the movie.

He's a LOT more sympathetic being brutally honest with himself in monologues/stuff like The Moth than he is as a character in a "fictional" story.

Yeah, the film does really well on Rotten Tomatoes. I'm guessing folks who like his act project the Q-rating he earned there onto his fictionalized self in this movie. Cuz independently, which is how I'm seeing this film, I'm not with him.
