Happy 50th anniversary. You're in awesome company so keep up the great work. Since 1962, Angell has written more than a hundred Sporting Scene pieces, mostly about baseball, but also on tennis, hockey, football, rowing, and horse racing.

Laughing at your editing, Spitter I wanted to correct the spelling of "Sameach" ("Sameakh" means something else) but figured I'd mess up the cake. Anyhow, in cricket when a batsman reaches a half-century (of runs) in an innings, it is customary for the him to raise his bat to acknowledge the crowd. In this case, the great Jacques Kallis acknowledges G-Fafif:
