Broken Ankle Gift Ideas

One of my friends fell while running yesterday and broke her ankle. I'm trying to think of something appropriate to send to her - does anyone have any suggestions?

She does have a bike trainer. She's a triathlete, and has done ironman tris (she's going to be pissed off at the races that she's paid for this year that she won't be able to do....). Single with no kids (does have two cats). Lives in a condo where she has to walk to the second floor. Good sense of humor. Her mom lives in Pennsylvania but will be able to come over in a few days (I don't know for how long).

How long does she have to have it on? After a bit she'll get used to wearing it, but she's still gonna miss her races. Maybe til Mom gets there you could offer to do her cat boxes and cook a meal or two for her. And get her some groceries. My mom's got a broken wrist (fell on ice) and I thinking she's planning to stay inside all winter, lol, so I'm doing her shopping.

She lives a little far from me, but maybe I can get over there at some point. She'll see the orthopedist in a few days. But yeah, it'll be a while before she participates in another ironman event.... How's your mom doing? Is she healing well?

Just talked to her, her appt is Thursday and she's ready! I hope the doctor agrees or she may be borrowing my husband's Dremel...

That is actually a good idea; I wish I would have thought of that. My mom let me borrow hers after my foot surgery and it was a big help! Good idea, metfairy!
