A Note to All

Here's something I've been meaning to say but keep forgetting. I have come to the conclusion that everybody in the entire United States has received at least 10,000 Woolrich catalogs since Labor Day and I just wish to state that if you are one of the 200,000,000 people who have called to complain about it, that I had nothing to do with it. I put nobody on our mailing list from my association here except Black Jack Shellack of Syracuse, NY. And as far as I know, he hasn't ordered anything yet.

I was getting them at home and at work until you put the kabash on them. Thanks. Do you know anyone at the other fifty places I get catalogs from?

I have greatly reduced my catalog load in my mailbox, but it has taken me about two years. Every time I get an unwanted catalog I call them and ask them to take me off the catalog mailing list. Sometimes it works on the first try. All too often it takes months before certain companies figure out that I really don't want their precious catalogs. But, eventually, they get the picture. Almost all of these companies have toll free numbers, so the call is on their dime. Figure the time you spend on hold is time out of their pockets.

I average about 60 "put me on" voice mails a day vs. about 30 "take me off"s. I guess that is a pretty good ratio.

We started to get a ton of catalogs (not just Woolrich) but it makes me feel like I'm helping the environment by stuffing the recycling bin with them.

I figure it helps the environment more if you don't kill the trees in the first place.

Catalogs are produced from recycled stuff, not trees. It's still good to do it.

I only request catalogs that are made directly from trees.
