Documentary examining obscure early-70s Detroit folk-singer Sixto Rodriguez, whose two albums flopped everywhere but in South Africa, where they became an underground (and above-ground) phenomenon. Flick follows the hijinx of South African fans sifting through myth and record-company shenanigans to "find" the singer, while you at home do too. That's the cool thing about this.

Good flick...some great camera shots and an amazing story.

D-Dad and I watched this on On Demand this evening, based largely on the recommendations of this thread.

It was truly a case of truth being stranger than fiction - an amazing story!

Finally saw this 17 months after the last post about it.

What really hit me between the eyes, besides the animated illustrating, was the US record executive talking exuberantly about Rodriguez being in top five acts he's ever been associated with, and then moments later getting viciously defensive when asked where the guy's royalty money all went, like he was caught in a 60 Minutes interview trap.
