Thomas De Wolff

I bet you didn't know, or more likely, briefly noted it and forgot it, but the Mets were the first big league team to sign a player out of Belgium.

Unfortunately, after acquitting himself respectably in the DSL for parts of two summers, the team gave up on him a few weeks into rookie ball.

I noticed him because he's got a profile in Out of the Park Baseball --- a bad, bad profile.

I don't know what's worse, that the computer could imagine a ballplayer with a such a terrible future ahead of him (players are rated from 1 to 20 on their skills), or that once generating that profile, it could link it to an actual person.

Re: Thomas De Wolff

You'd think that his 2010 and 2011 seasons alone would give hope for a better profile than that

anyway, why is your name in the header?

Re: Thomas De Wolff

I guess I'm his GM. Unlike Sandy, I kept him around for 2013. Near the end of the season, I realized his poorly rated ass never got used by Kingsport and their bloated roster. I briefly promoted him up to Savannah to get his five plate appearances in. Now he has a southern fried RBI to tell his kids about back in Antwerp.
