He says he'll make 30 starts. I'll put him down for 25. 9-9, 4.20 ERA.

6-10, 4.94, 101-37 in 22 starts/145.2 IP.

Fewer everything wouldn't shock me; more anything would. He's a slowball pitcher on his way down.

Rotation's best... until he gets shut down with forearm tightness just after the break.

22 starts, 129 IP, 9-5, 3.28 ERA, 1.19 WHIP, 101 K, 45 BB, 11 HR allowed

147.2 IP, 126 Ks, 3.87 ERA. I really like the Marcum signing.

Marcum and Hefner then pray for rain.

Matches what Capano did as a Met a couple of years back.

PHILADELPHIA -- Placeholder Aaron Laffey is due to start Tuesday at Colorado, but the Mets believe they can get Shaun Marcum ready to be activated from the disabled list relatively quickly.

Marcum, who has experienced shoulder and neck pain that required injections to ease, is due to throw two innings in a simulated game in a couple of days.

Mets officials plan to have him ramp up to five innings, potentially in an official rehab game with St. Lucie in the Florida State League, in the next outing. After that, DL activation is possible.

Take it easy on Ashie, Ashie. The season is young.
