Straitlaced Princeton University admissions officer Portia Nathan (Tina Fey) is caught off-guard when she makes a recruiting visit to an alternative high school overseen by her former college classmate, the free-wheeling John Pressman (Paul Rudd). Pressman has surmised that Jeremiah, his gifted yet very unconventional student, might well be the son that Portia secretly gave up for adoption many years ago. Soon, Portia finds herself bending the rules for Jeremiah, putting at risk the life she thought she always wanted -- but in the process finding her way to a surprising and exhilarating life and romance she never dreamed of having.

So Tina Fey plays a slightly more adorkable version of myself, except for a snootier school (Princeton). Also I have not, as far as I know, made out with any high school counselors.

This joins How I Got into College (1989) in the Netflix category Quirky Romantic Comedies About the College Admission Process.

Re: Admission (2013)

Good one. There was sorta a romantic angle in that, wasn't there?

Horsefeathers had romance and college admissions, but not at the same time.

My brother's applying to college soon. I should make him watch all of these first.

Re: Admission (2013)

I don't think admission is really an overarching theme in some of those, but good job.

As noted in the 'THIS IS 40' thread, is he even capable of NOT playing Paul Rudd?
