Defiance-TV show & MMO

This new show will launch on SyFy this month. The show looks like it might be good. Definitely has high production values as SyFy has sunk alotta $ into it. From what I've seen from commercials and trailers, I'm gonna check this show out. There is a video game that goes with it. Its not your typical TV show vid game (most are thrown together cheap and fast). The games been in development for 5 years. Things that happen in the show will be reflected in the game environment. Its an MMO/fps and looks to be a lotta fun. I have no idea what happens with the game if the show fails. I did register for a BETA invite and just got it today, so I will be able to preview the game and decide if I want to buy it (no subscription needed- just buy the game and play). I hope both are successful. Anyone else interested in the show and/or the game?

Like i do with most commercials, I haven't paid any attention to it, but if it's gonna be good I'll check it out maybe? In a perfect world I'd be interested in the game, but I can't see myself having the time, particularly for a MMO.

Played the beta over the weekend. Had a lot of fun but still the game does not have the depth an MMO should. Its just like a big sandbox FPS, and that's about it.It does have missions and side missions(a few are with characters from the show). It has some interesting differences from the usual MMO. You don't "level up" characters. Gear and weaps do go with a level system. No crafting or trade/market or even a decent community chat.The game has potential but it needs to realize it.I hope both the game and show do well, but I'm not going to be investing in the game at launch. If they address certain issues in the future I may give it another go.
