Don't steal this book... help out Peter David

SF/Fantasy writer Peter David had a stroke in December and is rough shape, both physically and financially. His wife Kathleen has posted a request on Peter's blog, asking for public support by buying Peter's books. see: http://www.peterdavid.net/2013/01/16/ho ... d-recover/ I've known Peter for some years now. While i'd like to think of him as a friend, i suppose we're no more than friendly acquaintances who do each other favors now and then (i get him house seats; he's gotten me autographed books and a pass to SD's comic-con a few years ago). While I generally just see him at Cons, I have been to his home and we do exchange emails now and then. So i was totally shocked and upset to hear about his situation. Beyond the "helping somebody out" aspect, I cannot recommend his books more highly. His stuff is funny, quirky, clever and well-plotted, without shirking on character. They're usually a great read. I don't know the PULLING UP STAKES books or the KNIGHT LIFE / CAMELOT books, but his SIR APROPOS OF NOTHING series (including WOAD TO WUIN and TONG LASHING) are my favorite of his novels, along with his new series DARKNESS OF THE LIGHT (i'm buying the sequel HEIGHTS OF THE DEPTHS through their website) and his unique take on Peter Pan, TIGERHEART. In comics, his runs on HULK and X-FACTOR are excellent, along with his independent titles SACHS & VIOLENS and FALLEN ANGEL. And some folks like his DARK TOWER stuff. He's also written a ton of Star Trek novels and movie novelizations, if that's your thing. But you should take a look to see if there's something of interest for you in his library. so buy a book and help a guy. its a good deal both ways.

It should also be mentioned that Peter is a big Mets fan. I met him at a con in 2006 and he was enjoying them beating the Dodgers.
