Guess I'm surprised to see the Buckster squatting today. Terry told Fatcessa yesterday that Wrecker would more likely catch Gee and Hefner than the other three because those two are most capable of calling their own games.

Yikes! I completely forgot that it was a day game! I'm working from home and could have had the TV on this whole time. Oh well. Looks like I missed 2 and a half scoreless innings. And I kinda like the orange-brimmed caps. It's better than any of the alternative caps they've been wearing.

When I was a kid playing in the CYO I got one of those plastic giveaway batting helmets from helmet day. For some reason I painted the bill white. I even wore it in CYO games. Either my coach didn't notice, or didn't give a shit. I have a pic of me in the helmet and uni somewhere. Don't know why I did that. It looked like crap then and it would look like crap now.

This is the only thing I don't like about Ike. Seems like a form of entitlement. Just a few minutes earlier his own captain showed the way a professional acts. Ike: Just walk away. I listened on and off to the XM feed on my phone at work today, though it was crazy-busy and people kept taking my attention away from the game with their "work" and "work problems" and "other shit that was not about the Mets." Onward!

I be thinking after that Familia's the man who's going elsewhere on Sunday. Greg Burke was pretty unlucky to give up his run and they'll give Hawkins more time before they decide he's done whereas Familia couldn't buy a strike. I'm not saying it's what they should do, but unless something strange happens it seems like most likely option.
