I don't know what you mean. North Side of Canada? Dublin?

A little help.

Re: Sunday Quiz

Yeah, all were former White Sox. That makes 'em Southsiders.

Maybe, but isn't Darryl Boston missing then?

But that can't be the answer because the question reads, in part:
and only the following Mets

They weren't the only Mets to play for the White Sox. See, e.g.:

Daryl Boston? There's gotta be about 50 or 60 Mets that played for the White Sox.

No. But we could use a grand slam today as insurance.

If this were the Bizarro world; if I had to come up with a corollary, or second version of this quiz, the question would be:

What do the following Mets, and only the following Mets, have in common?

Re: Sunday Quiz

Well, the former group went from the Sox to the Mets, and the latter went from the Mets to the Sox, but that does nothing to eliminate Darryl Boston. Or Darrin Jackson, et al.

And Koos, of course, didn't go directly from the Mets to the Sox.

Well, that eliminates my planned 'Have never been in my kitchen' answer.

Re: Sunday Quiz

The answer is in the cards.

Topps All-Rookie Team honorees from the White Sox who went on to the Mets.

Seaver, Koosman, and Jones received the honor as Mets, and eventually went on to the White Sox.

KA-POW!

Suck it, Ken Jennings!

Holy Moley@! The answer was in the cards, indeed. The first group of players were named to the Topps All Star Rookie Team as White Sox before eventually coming to the Mets.

Congratulations, and thank you for playing. This has been a Mark Goodman-Bill Todson production. Contestant prizes were furnished by Dicker & Dicker of Beverly Hills. batmagadanleadoff's wardrobe and accessories, including pale hosiery, were provided by Botany 500.

Good job! How'd you figure it out? I thought this quiz'd be up here for days and then I'd finally put out the answer.

Re: Sunday Quiz

I dunno. The Topps Rookie trophy is something that comes up on occasion around here, especially since Omir Santos, since a few of youse are cardnerds.

The Sox connection had to be part of the puzzle. I thought, "Did a buncha these guys come up the same year?" No, but some close. "Agee, I know, won the RotY. Did a buncha these guys come up and do really well right away? I know Seaver and Koosman did." MLB has no official all-rookie team, but then I thought... the Topps team!

I checked Al Weis' stats and saw he put up a respectable .271 batting average and .333 on-base percentage to go along with absolutely no power in his rookie year, I submitted my guess.

After I checked to confirm, I doubled back to add some trash talk.

Cardnerd!?

I'm a cardnerd! Yay! Excellent quiz. It was right in front of my face and I didn't have a clue.
