Calling BS on Jackie Robinson.

Amazing how many awful cards Piazza produced as a Dodger.

This is confusing, because of all the duplicates, but I believe you have the wrong Ramon Martinez (Pedro's brother, rather than the middle infielder).

Problem was, he was a superstar during the Era of Horrifically Ugly Cards.

Two Gil Hodges up there too.

Someone figure out what game that Strawberry was from, and whether we threw him out at the plate.

Is that really Burnitz swinging?

Sunday, July 21, 1991.

Strawberry was safe (on a single to left by Lenny Harris) but the Mets won the game, 9-4.

Officially revising that cliche about someone with a frozen expression of fear on his face to "like a 1967 Jim Hickman caught in the headlights."

Jae was a Met Seo long ago that sight of his name made me think Search Engine Optimization, whereas a while back, I'd be clearing out FAFIF's Spam filter and wonder why there was so much in there about Jae Seo.

Yeoman job displaying all these cards. Rises above the level of gruntwork.

There's been some real ex-Met stacked Dodger teams in recent decades, and some ex-Dodger stacked Met teams. Sometimes, if you're lucky, you can get them going in two different directions.

I love this set, and it was the first time I collected the entire series. And I have no recollection at all of this Hank Webb card. Looks like a bad air-brushing of his Mets uni, too.

I do like this Piazza card:

The Webb's a fake.

And right you are ...

[I] used webb's 1976 topps card for the image, and photoshopped the logo on the hat and 'bleached' his uniform.

Webb was a lefty version of Lewallyn. He spent the better part of his time shuttling between Tidewater and Shea before being dealt to the Dodgers for the immortal Rich Auerbach. He would pitch 8 innings in 5 games and have a low 2.25 ERA for the National League Champs. He would not make the post season roster and would never pitch in the majors again. This is actually an airbrushed version of his 1976 Mets card that I found on a blog called garveyceyrusselllopes.blogspot.com/

Cannizzaro wearing the one year only Dodger road uni with the stripe across the shoulders.

Jesse Orosco was not on the 1988 Dodgers. That never happened.
