I am coming out and declaring this one a Big Game which will Test This Team's Character and Show What They're Made Of.

Four consecutive day games. I guess that happens relatively often when heading into a weekend series in Chicago, but it still feels odd.

Murphy's not a bad leadoff hitter on this team, with this roster to pick from. But if both Turner and Murphy are in the starting lineup, I'd go Turner, then Murphy. Murphy [crossout:gar09vfd]doesn't walk[/crossout:gar09vfd] never walks against lefties, but has significantly more power that Turner.

Horrible slide. I think the play was a lot closer than the TV guys did, though. An embarrassing muff by Duda on what thankfully was a foul ball proves inconsequential, and we're tied after 4.

Amazing that Tejada's only non pop/fly-out in his last 97* consecutive ABs resulted in an inning-killing GiDP * I may be off by a few on this one Dillon's not going to get away with this lead-off doubles parade forever.

I don't know. Wood will be out of the game soon enough, and then all those lefties will be of more use. Get Buck up there in a homerun park against a pitcher at the end of his rope. Or use him to force a pitching change.

Two things I know about this Fujikawa guy 1) Murph just took him DEEP 2) He's not grabbing any of Shinjo's leftover modeling jobs after his career is over. Let's just say that the dude isn't exactly the Japanese Anthony Recker

I never realized until today that Marlon Byrd is one of those guys with what looks like half a chapter of a book tatted onto his arm (or maybe both arms, I couldn't tell). I have no idea what he says but, whatever it is, I doubt that it's so profound so as to cause me to re-think my life.

How about super-reliable Bobby Pee? Certainly had a better weekend than a couple other closers: - Baltimore's previously pristine Jim Johnson has made a mess of his last two appearances, coughing up 7 runs on 7 hits + 2 walks while getting just four outs. O's lost both after handing Johnson leads in each. - and Cincy's Aroldis Chapman was handed a one-run lead today in Philly but gave up back-to-back 2-out HRs to those well-known sluggers Erik Krantz & Freddy Galvis The funny part about this game (not to Reds fans of course) was that Chapman walked Delmon Young leading off the inning. The Phils then ran for Young with Cliff Lee but Lee promptly got picked off!!. If you're a Philly Phan you gotta figure that whatever chances you had were dead, especially after Chapman quickly got the 2nd out and the bottom of the lineup was due up.
