I guess you gotta give Ike a crack at the short porch.

Ruben Tejada – SS
Daniel Murphy – 2B
David Wright – 3B
Lucas Duda – DH
John Buck – C
Rick Ankiel – CF
Marlon Byrd – RF
Ike Davis – 1B
Mike Baxter – LF

vs Phelps.

Brett Gardener – CF
Robinson Cano – 2B
Travis Hafner – DH
Lyle Overbay – 1B
Brennan Boesch – RF
Ichirco Suzuki – LF
Jayson Nix – 3B
Reid Brignac – SS
Chris Stewart – C

vs. Hef

Does Boesch really have enough arm to knock Ichiro over to left or is it that leftfeild at YSIII is much more territory than right is?

Re: NYM @ MFY 5/29/13

If Valdy can't even get in the lineup tonight in Yankee Stadium vs a RHP with the DH rule in play; then they might as well just ship him down to AAA to get some playing time...yes his average sucks, but so does the rest of the guys that are getting playing time, and he's one of the few that actually has a degree of talent...

Re: NYM @ MFY 5/29/13

After the last two games, and the last bunch of sudden wins, I don't expect much tonight. Or should I say I expect the worst? I dunno. We are Met fans. We know that all four of these games going our way would be a lil miracle. Lil one.

But I'll still push it and forge on with my Python bit in support of our Mets.

A few more flesh wounds should do it.

A bit disturbing in that it's taken Hefner nearly 50 pitches just to get through two scoreless innings despite only three base-runners -- although I suppose that beats a low pitch count with runs allowed so we shouldn't complain too much.

But seriously, the rules from MLB say that the half-inning break is to be timed at 2:05 (2:25 for GotW and 2:55 for playoff games) except that one team gets to make one of theirs into a six minute break whenever they feel like it.

The Mets aren't contending this year, but I'd love to have the Yankees looking back in September, 10 games out of the 2nd Wild Card, and knowing that a sweep (or would it really be 2 sweeps of 2 games each? haha!) by the Mets was where it all started to go wrong

Very good point. I'll look at it again but 1st impression was that Hawkeye ended up with the best shot at it. Wright was running hard but he was not gonna get under that w/o a dive/lunge kinda deal. But like you said, kudos for Hawklegs to be totally aware of the situation/shift. Thats what I'll take away from this.
