Four half-innings, four lead-off runners on (first TWO lead-off hitters on in three of them).

Nothing personal with the poll Mr Gee. If you're a five inning pitcher we can use you better in the pen. Don't be a five inning pitcher. Quick, read that before you have to take the mound again.

Tough to swap in for Buck as he's the backup catcher tonight. Terry already slightly tempting fate by putting both catchers in the starting line-up

I would have left him in, he was cruising and don't ignore that they are burning rice's arm out. If it gets to Cano with a runner on where he can tie it, THEN take him out It DID NOT work perfectly, Rice could be unavailable or ineffective/tired tired tomorrow because of it.

This.
|
Frayed Knot May 30 2013 07:50 PM Re: NYM @ MFY 5/30/13 |
|
If Rice isn't tired already from his workload this season he's never going to be. And getting two consecutive LHBs on about 7 pitches in the 8th inning of a 2-run game by allowing neither to even hit a fair ball is virtually the definition of working perfectly as far as I'm concerned. And now Cano can't be the go-ahead or even tying run.

Swan Swan H May 30 2013 11:26 PM Re: NYM @ MFY 5/30/13 |
The previous record (since 1900) for strikeouts without a walk over three games was 26, done four times. The Mets, over the past three games, destroyed that record by walking none and fanning 34 Yankees. Sheesh. It's an oddly specific, manufactured record, but it's pretty damned impressive.
