Well Haren has been a lot less good than Zimmermannnnn this season so we've got that going for us. On the other hand ... - NYM bats have been making all kinds of pitchers look great recently - Gee hasn't been as good as Hefner What I'm afraid of is running into one of those situations where you waste a good pitching performance one night only to score some runs the next but give up even more

I think Gee may have settled in now that he's gotten his velocity up. weak hitting team too. Not that that's stopped anyone. Still competing for his job though. Suddenly we've got too much depth? (unless Niese's tendinitis flares..)

Quintanilla-SS Murphy-2B Wright-3B Duda-LF Byrd-RF Davis-1B Recker-C Lagares-CF Gee-P I know such sentiments have been expressed regularly in 2013, but yeesh. Even if we accept Q is scalding and that Byrd has had his moments, could 6 through 9 be any less threatening? And though Gee is no Harvey, he's a plausible 7-batter in this lineup. (6 really, but we'll show a modicum of faith in Ike.) Several hours from now, may the nine hits combined for by Recker, Lagares and Gee make me look wholly unprescient.

Talking about third base. Brooks was such an idol of mine. From 70-72 I was Agee in the outfield and Brooks in the infield. Eventually I became a third baseman and stayed there til my softball years. In softball I went from shortstop to third to outfield again, where I started.

I think Ike would have been out had he gone which would have left Gee to lead off the next inning, but that's not his call to make. Meanwhile, I think that inning sapped a lot out of the Washington bullpen's Stammen-a

I am watching this deboning in a hotel in Leesburg, VA, and whoever said the Nats announcers are homer suckholes, boyoboy were you right. I ran around the corner to the Greene Turtle for dinner, figuring the game would be all over the place. Way more screens on the Red Sox - Rangers and MLB Network games. I guess it is mostly out of towners. The management did not appreciate it when I jumped on the bar when Recker was up.
