Starring Stony Brook's own Tom Koehler, who I'm assuming will be expected to go at least eight today.

A one-one tie in the third. Lagares shows us the way with a 75-foot single.

IGT Fragment

Two men on and Quint gets a bunt single.

The Mets first hit with a RiSP in the series, but produces no run.

Directly, anyhow. The inning be young.

Two-run dubble, Rubble!

Thought it would be three.

Re: IGT 6/9/13 - Mets v Marlins

Prior to Wright's 2B, I was thinking the the last time I had seen stats on this sort of thing, the average number of runs scored starting from a bases-loaded/no-out situation was around 2.5 (might be a bit lower than that now due to the current lower-scoring era).
Then I pondered where I'd put the Over/Under on this NYM team in that same situation even with the middle of the order due up. I was thinking about 0.7 or something and the Valdespoin pop-up certainly didn't help dissuade me from that.

But then just as I started to type Dabid smacked the ball into the gap for the first REAL RiSP hit of the weekend (Quintanilla's bunt technically was but, y'know) and we wound up beating the odds with a three-spot.

Shudda been. But Ill take anything at this point.
Real nice kaboom by Muffy earlier, and that mighta been 2 runs if Valde didn't have so much sac.

I like that Terry had a lil chat w/him after that. Pretty inexcusable move to try and steal third there. I do hope he's learning.

Dominic Smith has a slight hint of Tyson lisp. Underscores the teenager in the man.

I'm sure I must have read that somewhere but I don't recall.

4-3 aint gonna do it. Pile on the runs!

Damn. GJ recovering from that ripoff Lyon. Garys right and I hope Ronnie means it. That rule has to be looked into. In that situation why couldnt it just be called an automatic double play?

OE: I understand how you cant assume anything, but still.

Youk on to pitch for Miami

Nice to see that, after the three run inning, they've settled back into their groove from yesterday.
Not only no hits in a while but every out is a piece 'o shit pop-up or weak grounder.

The home team should have about a 60% chance at winning this type of game which is why I put our chances at about 15%

Re: IGT 6/9/13 - Mets v Marlins

15% was obviously way too optimistic.

That my TV signal is breaking up right now might be a good thing overall.

I was a big Garr fan. An impact player. Joy to watch when he came up.

Meanwhile, the Mets are being threatened in the 9th.

I'll wait until we get the second out and hold the guy at third before I'll comment.

YES! And Ozuna, the last guy I wanted to see up.

out 5-3.
4-4. Bottom of the 9th.

Re: IGT 6/9/13 - Mets v Marlins

And Ozuna's avg against the Mets plummets to .987 as he ends the 9th on a grounder.
The Mets now have a chance to put this away without the Fish ever getting up again so our win-odds just jumped to 21%

Re: IGT 6/9/13 - Mets v Marlins

The sum total of the Mets "offense" following Wright's [u:ac1vx6a2]3rd inning/one-out[/u:ac1vx6a2] 2-RBI double:
8 Ks; 10 GOs; 3 Pop-ups (2 of them foul); 3 Fly-outs; 1 BB; and 1 infield single (which could have been scored an error)

IOW -- 25 batters; 1 hit; only 15 managed to hit even a fair ball and only 3 of those left the infield - much of which came against a 27 y/o 18th round draft pick from five years ago with 6 starts and 55 innings pitched on his ML resume

Re: IGT 6/9/13 - Mets v Marlins

It's funny (and not ha-ha funny) how the offense switches gears without going anywhere. The extra inning game was similar. They got eight walks in regulation, but couldn't plate anything. Then they utterly stopped walking in extra innings, but got eight or nine hits, but still nothing.
