Gut reaction is Reggie. A's/O's/Y's/Angels.

This one was easy. We'll also accept another answer based on the way the question was worded.

Re: SI Cover Quiz

I'm declaring Reggie the winning answer of this quiz, but technically, Jordan made the SI cover with five different teams:

Forgot the Dream Team. Nice.

Re: SI Cover Quiz

See what happens when you focus on the negative? You see the weeds and not the flowers.

That was eight years before the Dream Team. This is the Dream Team and, depending on how you interpret "team", perhaps Jordan's sixth team on the cover:

One more baseball player covered on four different teams by SI.

Just one. But with the right team.

I'm thinking Bo Jackson, probably Auburn, the Royals, White Sox and Raiders.

No White Sox cover. But a Memphis Chicks cover. So there's your four. I overlooked Bo. So there's still at least one more out there.

Three, but not four, for Gaylord (Giants, Padres and Mariners):

And three for Clemens (no Blue Jay cover):

Winner! Substitute Falcons for 49ers:

Close, but no Astros cover for Nolan.

Re: SI Cover Quiz

I'd have thought the Astros the one lock out of the four for Ryan, and the Mets the least likely.

Ryan was a retired legend when he made the cover as a Met. That was a nostaslgia "Where are they now?" cover, issued in 2009.

Sadly, no shots of him with either of the Bay Area teams.

I've been an SI obsessed freak for most of my life and that Astro cover was always one of my favorites. It's easy to miss second base - the lone visual reminder that the infielders are on a baseball diamond. Otherwise, Morgan and Jackson appear to be floating in space, like astronauts. That cover is from the period that I consider to be SI's golden age of covers, spanning the mid to late sixties, when SI combined their trend setting talents for sports photography with a newfound sense of creativity.

I was curious.

Last MLB Chico: Walker, 1993. (Unless you count Jose Lind, who lasted until 1995.) Before that: Chico Ruiz, 1980.
Last MILB Chico: Cortez, PHI, 2005. Before that: three guys in the mid-90s.

That's it.

I'm not a cover keeper.
But the one SI cover I have (somewhere in my house) is a picture of Gary Carter in Montreal catcher's gear. And the cover article is "Why The National League is Better".

Re: SI Cover Quiz

Wilfred (Sonny) Siebert (1975) finished up one year after Roland (Sonny) Jackson. None since in the majors, but Oakland has a pitching prospect at AAA whose real name is Sonny Gray.
