Dillon Gee shaving off the stubble of futility as we speak. Shelby Miller will go with the red accents on gray.

Let's Go Mets. They're the only Mets we go.

I was actually thinking he might go the entire time. Great call by Tuef.

Now the question is; will these be our only runs of the night?

I don't answer questions that depress me ;)

Tuefel was waving him all the way and Carlos was just going thru the motions. I really didn't think Dan would keep going until he rounded third and went into his higher low gear.

I never knew until tonight that those tats on Yadier's neck are of musical notes.
Wonder if they're just random or if it's from a specific song?

Mets get out of the 6th with only one run via the HR as, with 2/down and a RiSP, G gives J the big FU

Marlon happy that the Cards got Miller out of there.
And not to sound greedy or anything, but I wouldn't mind seeing one of these HRs with like an actual runner on base every now and then.

Last NYM [u:2zy8oi2x]home win[/u:2zy8oi2x] that was
a) greater than 2 runs
and
b) not a last AB win
= April 19th, Mets 7 - Nationals 1

... of course we're not there yet

Went out for the evening. Didn't even follow it on handheld devices during the film.

Funny to see them win while getting three homers but no walks. Must be in an aggressive mood, or a deliberate revisiting of strategery.

That's what sucks about punditry. The race for attention being the fastest guy to the broadest conclusion.

Nobody's in any hurry in the subsequent race to eat it.

On Molina's double last night, Valdespin (the second baseman) for some reason ran all the way over to the third base line to stand like 6 feet from David Wright (Duda relayed in to Quintanilla who then flipped to Valdespin since he was right there). Why? What could he possibly have been thinking he was going to do?

I only noted this because when Duda fielded it I looked towards second to see if they had a chance to get him and saw Murphy running to cover. It's almost like a wheel play on a double.

So that's what broke your streak of mis-placed posts!
If there's any consolation it's that, just like a hitting streak, your streak isn't broken in games you never appeared in.

On a double to LF, the SS & 2B usually act as double cut-off men (either to 3B or, if a runner was on 1st before the hit, to home) while the 1B trails the batter/runner towards 2nd on account of there ain't no reason to cover 1st anymore.
Now I can't picture that play specifically in my head, but it sounds like Valdespin was in the correct general area even if maybe not in the ideal spot.

That does seem to make sense. I guess it just felt weird because the play was along the line so whereas normally he'd be right around SS position, here he was basically standing in front of David Wright. Also with Yadier the runner little chance he was going to third. What makes the decision between deciding to cover second for a possible throw?

no replay on mlb for the double, so can't look back at it. aw well.

Re: IGT 6/12/2013: STL @ NYM -- Gee, Your Team Plays Horrifi

I'm old school. The shortstop or secondbaseman gets the outfield cutoff, the other one covers the bag, and the first baseman gets the infield cutoff.
