It's a good thing they didn't do anything like this for the Yankee Stadium ASG. A parade of douchebags would be pretty tacky.

Thanks for the heads-up on all this, C. I "borrowed" your NYG pic for FB (credit given). And now, I fear, I must have several ASG Apple figurines. At least I probably won't be spending it on WS tix.

I saw the Red Sox one on my way home. I guess working in Midtown I'll manage to see most of them.

I love the Statue of Liberty. I hated those Liberties on Parade. They looked like graffiti on our beloved Lady in the Harbor.

is the yankees' apple the most uninspired, least imaginitive design possible? what ever happened to the top hat logo? or are they too busy being serious all the time? if i were a yankee fan, i'd be all about the top hat - screw the interlocking ny and the pinstripes and the nnob. the top hat is where its at. but then, if i were a yankee fan, i'd be an insufferable douche...

A lot of the apples aren't up yet. I'll probably wander out at lunch looking for the Yankees and Tigers today. (Didn't see the league ones, the Miami one, or the Diamondbacks one this morning in the spots listed) I agree on the top hat logo, but it might have too much character for the modern day Yankees.

Any truth to the rumor that the Rangers apple in Zucotti Park has already been covered with graffiti, tipped over and trashed because it's seen as representative of the 1% ?

The Royals apple is in front of Fox on the Avenue of the Americas. It's on a little patio two steps up from street level where they probably do outdoor shows or something. Both stairwells had a metal grate thingy blocking it, but hey, it's a street corner and I'm a New Yorker, so I didn't let that stop me from getting the picture up close. Sure did piss off some security guard though. I had my headphones in anyway, but I did hear him yelling and whistling. As I'm leaving he was quite annoyed. Dropping words like "private property" and "trespassing". I pointed out that there are 34 other apples right out in the public to be seen and he didn't seem to care. Stood in my way until I just said "Okay, I"m leaving" and walked past him. This guy really needs to get into the All-Star Spirit! must be a Yankees fan.

I heard some guy on FAN the other day claiming he couldn't find some of the apples, that they weren't where they were supposed to be or something. Naturally he blamed the Wilpons.

Naturally he blamed the Wilpons. obviously. they're greedily keeping them. They've all been rolled out now I think. There were some delays with some of the outdoor ones (And the Tampa one had a last minute change in location) but as of this week they've all shown up.
