It's a little unfair to Felix to put him in that group. He got his share of hits--over 1600 in his career, and probably well over 2000 if not for Ed Ott's high school wrestling flashback. And he used to hold the Mets' single-season record.

The next time the Mets win a game (unless, that is, we're in the early stages of a job-killing losing streak) Terry Collins will become the ninth Mets manager to win 200 games. Six wins will put him ahead of Jerry Manuel and in sole possession of eighth place on the Mets all-time list. Beltran had 16 in '99. I suspect this is one of those things you don't get a real chance at except your fist year or two.

Assists as CenterFielder Scanning the list quickly - most of those single-season records seem to be from a long time ago. The post-WWII mark looks to be Willie at 22 in '55 Post-expansion era is Andruw/Unser's 20 in '68/'98 Lagares is unlikely to reach that 20 mark, but he is throwing out runners at a greater rate than Jones did as he's more than halfway there in less than half the innings: Jones 1,372 innings played, all in CF Lagares: 603 innings played, all in CF

Ahh, Fangraphs only goes back to '56 with assists. B-R suggests that it's only going back to '54 but then includes all those old guys. I suspect those are simply outfielders at that point. For LF, CF, RF fielding stats, we only have reliable data since 1954, so all leaders are since 1954.
