Matty's 1-3, 5.73 in 12 games (9 starts) to this point. In 37.2 innings, he's given up 41 hits and has walked an astonishing 30 and only K'ed 23.

He's also 0-for-3 with 2 K's.

Sorry. I should have put more detail in my post; he's the same guy I adopted over at CPF1...

Matt's a B-level prospect these days, working his way back into shape after spending two years on Mormon mission. His adoption comes solely from the fact that he has the same name as my wife's friend from college.

I'll keep Matty in the fold for one more season... I thought he was in camp, but he hasn't pitched yet. I'll poke around and see if I can find him.

Mets make roster cuts

The New York Mets today re-assigned the following players to minor league camp: righthanded pitchers Philip Humber, Matt Lindstrom, Rafael Cova, Jeremy Hill and Jason Scobie; catchers Jesus Flores, Drew Butera, Andy Wilson and Aaron Hathaway; and infielder Brett Harper.

And... that answers that question. Sorry you didn't get into any games, son; maybe next year.

Matty's turned it around in '06. Don't know what happened, but he's learned to find the plate, and has been selected to the 2006 All-Star Futures Game in Pittsburgh.

And to celebrate, he gave up four runs in less than one inning in last night's relief appearance.

That's what I get for posting before looking at his frigging stats. Nuts.

Actually, he was pitching quite well until last night's disaster - acting as the closer recently.

Maybe he can't handle "success".

Maybe he can't handle being compared to Pia Zadora.

That has to be it.
LOL!
