"You need those guys that are gonna lean on the pole. David Wright loves to lean on that pole!"

What is that guy talking about?

Jokeland? Aren't you the one who once admonished me for using Mad magazine style nicknames?

TheOldMole
Jun 15 2005 10:07 PM

I'm guessing it means he'll hit home runs that are fair by inches????

Edgy DC
Jun 15 2005 10:25 PM

Jokeland is a sucky nickname. It's true. I called it Oaktown last night. Old skool.

Two on in the second.

Edgy DC
Jun 15 2005 10:26 PM

The announcer just declared, "Piazza at second, Randolph at first."

His partner didn't correct him.

Edgy DC
Jun 15 2005 10:28 PM

Douggers walks and Victor Diaz again is up with the bags juiced.

OE: And he grounds hard to second.

He's gone from seeming savior to seeming rally-killer.

"Jokeland" was sort of meant to stink.

I love those fans in the leftfield bleachers with the flags and the horns - they are worth the price of admission.

Well, now we know: Reyes does not wear a cup

It's real easy to give Edgy a guilt complex.

How bad does Beltran look up there? Ugh.

Keith is making this one *slightly* more bearable so far.

Edgy DC
Jun 15 2005 10:56 PM

Zambrano matching Haren (and only giving up one walk) makes this slightly more bearable.

Our hitting is thin right now. It'd be nice if somebody wakes up today. I'm hoping Matt Suhey.

Question Dumb: Is that Gilbert Gottfried doing the Aflac duck?

Jun 15 2005 11:13 PM

Daubach is in the building wearing #13...

Johnny Dickshot
Jun 15 2005 11:15 PM

Yeah that's Gilbert.

Gary Cohen tells me that the Mets have not scored a run in 19 innings,Diaz just made a great catch...WOW....Fran was right, you can work on your defence and get better..

Edgy DC
Jun 15 2005 11:22 PM

Gilbert must be getting good and rich.

Great catch by Diaz.

"Let's get some runs!"

Edgy DC
Jun 15 2005 11:29 PM

Without brainings.

Please, God, runs without brainings, thank you.

Johnny Dickshot
Jun 15 2005 11:33 PM

Keith raises the question, "Why is Anderson batting ahead of Wright?"

Fran riases the issue of his cahnfidence.

WWSB has got to start doing shit.

Johnny Dickshot
Jun 15 2005 11:48 PM

2 Oakland runs score on a walk, a dunk single and a Chavez double and that oughta be enough to finish us.

Jun 15 2005 11:48 PM

Wright gets the Mets first lead off hit tonight, Davids 18th 2B hit..Doug hitting, time to start the rally ...

metirish
Jun 15 2005 11:50 PM

Mint came through with a hit, Wright scores, come on you Mets..

Johnny Dickshot
Jun 15 2005 11:54 PM

I nega-jinxed 'em, and we score 2 on btb doubles by Wright & Mientkiewicz and btb sacflies by Diaz & Reyes.

Jun 15 2005 11:59 PM

Zambrano is pitching a gem, no home runs in his last 5 starts, not a lot of walks, his last 6 starts were good..

Royce Ring pitching in a big spot , facing Chavez...

seawolf17
Jun 16 2005 12:17 AM

Welcome back to the big leagues, Royce. Now get the hottest hitter in baseball out in a tie game with runners on the corners in the bottom of the 8th.

seawolf17
Jun 16 2005 12:18 AM

Heeeeeeeeeeeeeee struckim ouuuuuuuuut! Oh, a big strikeout by the youngster.

metirish
Jun 16 2005 12:19 AM

Royce did the job....come on you Mets

seawolf17
Jun 16 2005 12:20 AM

NOW SCORE SOME FREAKING RUNS.

edit: If Diaz, aka "D.P. Rallykiller," comes up in a big spot in this inning, you pinch hit for him. I don't care if you throw Benson or Glavine up there, but you get Diaz the hell outta there.

Jun 16 2005 12:32 AM

in Anaheim, Chad Cordero just pulled a Franco in a 1-run game loading the bases with nobody out and wiggling his way out of it.

The Mets look terrible at the plate again tonight except for back to back doubles.

Another wasted pitching effort by Zambrano who has been suprisingly solid lately, he clearly wants to show the team that any call for a replacement (or a speedy return by Traschel) should be focused on Ishii not on him.

byebye Royce..

intentional walk to Hatteberg? i'm not sure about this one...

Johnny Dickshot
Jun 16 2005 12:40 AM

What we needed tonight was a humiliating loss.

Nymr83
Jun 16 2005 12:40 AM

Jun 16 2005 12:41 AM

Ex Met Scutaro sticks it to us......WOW..

Spacemans Bong
Jun 16 2005 02:23 AM

That fucking blew. A lot of Met fans there tonight though.

Edgy DC
Jun 16 2005 07:12 AM

Were you the guy with the Gary Carter jersey, Bong?

Centerfield
Jun 16 2005 10:52 AM

My optimism is fading. Isn't it about time to put Beltran on the DL? Let him rest...he looks terrible in the field and at the plate. I'd rather have him healthy for the second half than watch him struggle like this.
