Piazza is the active leader for HR's (6) and RBI with 14 on Fathers day, Richie Sexon is the active leader in AVG with .556 on Fathers Day.

Saw that earlier today on Baseball Tonight.

I haven't liked the home plate umping either way this series.

This Seattle feed has a lot of different camera angles that I'm liking.

I'm liking something.

Aren't the Seattle announcers horrible? They make me nuts.

Edgy DC
Jun 19 2005 05:00 PM

I don't usually get bothered by announcers. They are what they are.

It's the score that's eating me.

6-1 Mariners, Glavine pulled, well that was frustrating.

KC
Jun 19 2005 05:31 PM

How are we going to dump Glavine at the trading deadline if he sucks?

And Seaver, enough of the 'un-Glavine-like stuff' ... he hasn't been much Glavine-
like ever for the orange and blue and he was irritating with the extra strike zone
stuff he got back when on the top of his game.

Nymr83

2.1 innings, 6 runs for Glavine, good job! could have been more if Heilman didn't get the DP ball, this rotation needs Seo and/or Heilman.

Nymr83
Jun 19 2005 05:57 PM

Woodward is HBP to make it 6-2 with bases loaded.
Meche is gone....will Anderson and Reyes be our heroes or our goats?

Nymr83
Jun 19 2005 05:59 PM

Vioctor Diaz pinch-hitting for Anderson
WP scores a run and takes the DP out of order. 6-3

Nymr83
Jun 19 2005 06:00 PM

thank god for the wild pitch or else Diaz would have just ended it 3-6-3.

2-out for Reyes.

Now we're seeing some baseball.

Nymr83
Jun 19 2005 06:04 PM

6-4 as Reyes beats out the infield hit.
almost another wild pitch...
Beltran lines one just foul :(

Beltran drives one in, 6-5.

another ball in the dirt...no control for this guy...

1-2 to Floyd...pops out to SS, but at least its a game again.

Nymr83
Jun 19 2005 06:21 PM

great, we score 4 runs and then of course walk a fuckin run in, this team is a joke and cant do anything right.

ScarletKnight41

I hat baseball :(

Jun 19 2005 06:36 PM

Scarlet Knight you are now Jae Seo! quickly freeze your posting level!

4 more seattle runs, the Mets are about to be swept by Seattle and will have lost 9 of their last 11.
I was considering a roadtrip down to Philly next week but the way the Mets are playing i'll just wait.

Edgy DC

I would think Piazza's hand would be too numb to be batting.

The "New Mets" seem an awful lot like the old Mets. And we could do without this "new" Beltran that came over to the team - he is beginning to bring back very bad memories of another offensively impressive switch hitter who suddenly lost his mojo as a Met, except without the bad 'tude . . .one Bobby Bo

Crap road trip. Really poor play.

Hopefully we get Cammy & Matsui back in there on Tuesday and start to hit again. That's all we can do.

Eh, the old Mets just weren't good. This team is good.

It's very frustrating. Willie frustrates me a lot. For God's sake, please get Reyes down to the 8 hole and stick him there until he starts to walk.

Not that it probably would have mattered in the long run ... but I really questioned the use of DeJean when he was brought in. Anyone hear an explanation as to why Heilman was yanked? The only thing I could think of was that he sat an awful long time while we had our one good half-inning and maybe Willie thought he'd stiffen or lose his effectiveness (he'd given up 2 hits the inning before).
But DeJean came off as fairly gutless by sailing 4 pitches well wide of the plate while pitching to Sexson after first getting up 0-2. If he doesn't trust his stuff enough to get one even close to the zone to tempt a long-armed, free-swinger like Sexson why should we - or Willie for that matter?

Of course it didn't help when Ring & Bell shit the bed right afterward.

The thing I'm hearing on the 'Fan is that Willie is saving him for the Phillies on Tuesday, for the pen apparently, I can't explain that rational either, Heilman was pitching great and only threw 20 pitches.

Surely you jest. This team is not good.
