Is that to be our banner?

I'm thinking something along the lines of

Main Crane Pool Banner
Other sites by our regular members:Mets PhotographyUltimate Mets DatabaseMets by the Numbers

Listen I wasn't going to say anything, but I like the new banner, and am really glad to have JA's link there too.

But there is one place obviously missing-KCMets. Don't be so humble KC, put it up there!

I like it too.

KC Mets isn't regularly updated anymore, so KC made a link to the the part of his site that is still a treat, Istanbul's photos.

There just was a part of the banenr defining who we were last week.

Yeah, but I am lazy, and I used KC's site to get to the Met's website

I'm experimenting, haven't settled on anything quite yet. I also wanted to
get something back up quickly to make sure it would stay put and not dis-
appear on us like Sat night/Sun morn.

Thanks.

Is that our banner?

I think there needs to be some cranes somewhere in the design.

Thanks for standardizing the size of the three mini-banners.

Nice. I think you've got it.

What is The Crane Pool Companion going to be?

KC

Edited 1 time(s), most recently on Jun 18 2005 12:59 PM

Thanks.

The Crane Pool Companion will be a page that will house POTM stuff,
current Crane events and reports on past ones, and whatever else we
come up with. An onthegoontheflyoffthewallrollinaroundonthewarning
track little corner of Mets' cyberspace sponsered by Rheingold ... the
dry beer or maybe some Shaffer too if you're having more than one.

Jun 18 2005 12:58 PM

Cool. Could the Companion also link to kcmets.com archives?

KC

>>>Could the Companion also link to kcmets.com archives?<<<

Are there any?

ScarletKnight41
Jun 18 2005 01:22 PM

There are some old Monday Morning Mets columns & feature columns that still exist in cyberspace but they aren't available on the current kcmets.com front page. And there are some cute pix, like the Shinjo banner/game at the Vet - it would be nice to have them more readily accessible.

Uh, I was joking. It's bad enough nobody gets me, you always got me, don't
un-get me or I'll be a really lost cause.

It's funny, I get Mon Morn Mets links a lot when googlin' Mets' stuff. The history,
photopages, and memorablia images too. I'm embarrased that I've let it slip so.

Sorry Bro - fwiw, I get you as well as I get anything these days.

I like the images, and the links, but I think the masthead takes up too much space - I think it pushes the rest of the page down too far.

KC
Jun 18 2005 10:11 PM

I don't disagree, I'd prolly prefer wide and thinner. I kinda like this for now,
and will prolly stick with it and move on to other cpf projects.

Among the administrator community, we properly call this the "Bitch to the Admins" forum, but call all the other fora the "Admin to the Bitches" fora.

Kase - I got a little inspired - you have mail...

I think if it's possible to do so that the banner would look better centered or stretched across the page. You can tell me to bugger offf though if y'all feel differently.

So I get to work, and the Shea photo is missing from the top.

Gremlins?

cooby
Jun 20 2005 09:34 AM

No, its there

KC
Jun 20 2005 11:56 AM

Not there here. I tried in Explorer too.

The really bizzare thing is the html looks ok on a 'view page source'

Can one of you html type heads see anything wrong here. I can't do any-
thing about it tonight but I'm just curious if anyone else is experiencing
the missing Shea photo.

Thanks

ok now this is interesting - I see the image with no problems.

Looking at the source code you pasted, I see that your source isn't including the tag for the image:
] <td width="476" height="64" valign="top" align="left" xpos="124"><a href="http://cybermessageboard.ehost.com/getalife/index.php"></a></td>

this is what I get when I view source:
]<td width="476" height="64" valign="top" align="left" xpos="124"><a href="http://cybermessageboard.ehost.com/getalife/index.php"><img src="http://www.kcmets.com/Craneshea.jpg" alt="The Crane Pool Forum" height="60" width="468" border="2"></a></td>

KC
Jun 20 2005 12:19 PM

I don't see the image in the view source anymore, but it was there this
morning and I thought it was in what I attempted to cut and paste but
it's not. Very curious, there has to be a logical reason ... but I'm not
feeling very logical right now.

It happened again. Should we be concerned or just scratch our heads and
try to figure it out.

What happened to our banners? I just went to click on UMDB and nothing was there...

PS who the hell is Jeff Duncan?

KC
Aug 11 2005 03:05 PM

Yesterday I changed the number of threads per page to 25 (which it was on
the other board) from 50 to see if that would speed things up.

For some reason this corrupted the banner. I'll put it back or something a
little toned down asap.
