We're taking the kids to see this on Christmas Day (the day it goes into wide release), so I thought I'd start the thread. Frankly, I don't expect to like it as much as I loved the 1968 movie (see the separate thread) or the Broadway Musical (which I liked more than Vic did, but I still didn't like that as much as the 1968 movie). But I'm a completionist, so we're going to check it out.

BTW, I've been listening to the soundtrack on AOL. The song that they added to the soundtrack is ridiculously lame - I'm appalled that it has a Golden Globe nomination for Best Song.

We took the family to an early show today. My expectations going in were pretty low, and I wound up enjoying it much more than I thought I would. The same thing happened to me when I saw the show on Broadway. They set the movie in the same time period as the original movie, and there was quite a lot of homage to the original movie within the musical - it was something of a missing link between the original comedy and the Broadway musical. Sure, parts of it were stupid, but overall I wound up laughing too much not to be engaged by it. It was fun.

BTW, stay for the very end of the credits for a cute little surprise.
