I'll spare the people on Sunset Blvd and go with Metallica on this one.

Of course I am trying to reference what some rocker said in 1988 when Metallica were up for the new Grammy category Hard Rock/Metal Performence only to get beat by Jethro Tull after bringing the house down by performing "One", they did win the Grammy for "One" in 89...I forget what rocker said he would run down Sunset nekkid.

On further review this statement I think was uttered in 1989 after the debacle of 88.

One was written by one of my favorite musicians, Harry Nilsson.
What a great voice that guy had.

Id prefer his original version.

Voted 3 Dog Night tho.

That version came out the most awsum summer of ' 69, pretty sure.
Got alot of air play.

Extra innings as they're tied at 9.

Judges rule: First "one" to 10 wins! (please watch this one and LMK when it flips!

I flipped it.

Never really cared much for heavy metal so I voted for the dogs.

Wow. You know, still time to make a comeback in the losers bracket but this one's a 10-9 final in 10 innings.

I got a copy of Aimee Mann doing that tune off of a Harry tribute album.

Stunning victory for TDN; a fairly inoffensive group who did some decent vocals although broke no new ground whatsoever. Most famous, I guess, for covering Randy Newman's 'Mamma Told Me Not to Come', for Paul Williams' 'Old Fashioned Love Song' and also for 'Joy to the World' (Jeremiah was a Bullfrog) a song which got an extra shot in the arm a dozen or so years after it's original release when it was used in 'The Big Chill'.

edit: and here, less than a half hour after typing that, TDN's 'Joy to the World' comes on the radio I'm listening to
