The Mets move two lower level minor leaguers, in exchange for an abstraction. Did this get covered earlier in the week? http://www.amazinavenue.com/2013/7/25/4 ... l-cap-room Essentially, if I understand it correctly, the Mets get neither talent nor money from the Angels, but instead get an increase in their right to spend money on international talent. Because when I think of the Mets, I think of their screaming frustration at the external constraints placed on their spending. Anyhow, memories of Julio Concepcion and Andres Perez, anybody?

Well they can and the Mets have done just that, dealing away minor leaguers OF Julio Concepcion (currently in Brooklyn) and RHP Andres Perez (Appy Lg) to the Angels in exchange for $360,500 of extra bonus money which pushes the Mets' total international bonus pool to $3,025,100. If this means the Mets want to spend more on players they feel may have more talent than 2 minor leaguers who arent going anywhere I'm ok with it. International draft would be a waste and I wish they'd take this system to the states... the owners can have the cost control they want (and the union wants it too for non-members) but without stopping guys from signing where they want to.

Cost control stops guys from signing where they want to. I say blow up the whole house.
