Mejia - Knee Jerk Reaction

I missed the first HR, but the next two runs were really the result of a lucky roller, and one well struck ball.

The rest of the night he appeared to be in pretty good control. The command wasn't as great as the last start by all accounts, but I thought he looked pretty good. His slider does look nasty.

If that leadoff bunt hit by Alvarez is an out, he's looking at 6 innings, 1ER, rather than 3 ER. But those are the breaks.

Overall, I'm encouraged by what I saw. Better than anything I'd seen in previous years.

They say on Metsblog that he was bothered by a bone spur. I've lost track of whether that is a minor thing or a really bad thing.

Encouraging to see him have such good control when that above everything was the one thing he didn't have the first time around.

Let down by the bats (including his own) last night, we've got to stop leaving guys on at 3rd base and hitting into DPs out the wingwang.

It's a "will have surgery in the offseason but pitching through it" thing.

Just like Niese will do with his tear.

and like Gee is doing with his old shoulder problems.

Hey, Harvey and Wheeler are healthy.

I'm encouraged by Mejia so far too.
