IGT 9/6/2013: NYM @ CLE -- Where's Lefty?

Not sure if Lefty Specialist is lying in the weeds as he did Wednesday, waiting for things to turn in the Metsies' favor before starting the thread, but in the meantime, 2-0 Tribe, top of third, Kazmir striking out everybody in sight...which was supposed to mean good news for said Metsies, but that was a long time ago.

If "Redskins"-- technically, demi-correct, if insulting-cum-racist-- is so objectionable that majorish media outlets won't deign to use the name any longer, then why isn't "Indians"-- which is not only incorrect, but kind of a fuck-you-I'm-calling-you-what-I-want sort of incorrect-- getting any "pub" of late? Will it take a Cleveland playoff appearance before activists and fairmindeddecentfolk set on the franchise again?

"Indians" is ethnographically wrong but has a tradition that gives it a currency, even among Native Americans themselves. "Redskins" is has a derogatory connotation that "Indians" does not. The caricature of the chief is another matter. Kazmir is pitching angry.
