To phrase it that way Gary, that The Mets played the Fish "at the wrong time" and that's why they have pummeled us is a very generous assertion.

Be at the bag Murph.

Another game, and other day of getting 2-hit (or worse) through 5 innings by a mediocre pitcher.
This team hasn't even had a lead since Sunday and have rarely even been tied in games since then.

I don't care what anybody says I want EYjr on the club next season. Nice lead off double.
Do not strand him.
Please.

Ya know, what Keith just said, why are they taking 200 swings in practice/warmups? That seems like way too much. They'd be gassed by game time.

Two on, two out for Lucas Duda, gasping for for the last breaths of his career.

Few in the park for all this drama.

First lead since Sunday.
And I believe it's Duda's first hit with a runner on base since August 2012* - although I'm still checking on that.

* I was obviously "taking the piss" on this one, but it is just Lucas's 2nd of his 13 HRs this season that wasn't with empty bases.

Wow, is there a special "Niemanize" toggle I don't know about in Photoshop?

Lutz gets a hit. These dead men walking getting hits only makes Sandy's job harder. Better release Francisco now before he does something that'll make you reluctant.

That (Stanton's 2nd HR) got out there so fast that in the pre-remodeled CitiField it would have been a single.

Quick job getting out of the inning by Atchie.

Missed this (watching '42' with the fam, egads) but wonder how far into Howie Rose's nightly lecture about how much Lucas Duda sucks that it went out.

So was it Bones who kept saying 'Hawkins me boy' or was it his rival whose name I can't remember right now?

I don't think I've read that book since my father read it to me and my sister a bunch of decades ago, but the 'Hawkins me boy' line still sticks in my head.

When I read that book for school I would listen to Scheherazade, the classical instrumental piece. It was like the perfect soundtrack.

I'm not sure. Bones departs pretty early on in the book. If I hadda guess, I'd say the treacherous Long John Silver, who throughout the book, tries to conceal his intentions from Hawkins by acting friendly.
