Calendars and Cards (Split from R.A. Deserves)
TransMonk May 01 2013 08:42 AM |
I have a 2013 Mets mini-calendar that features RA as I flip to May.

When was this calendar published? I'd think it would have been pretty clear for a long time that Jason Bay wasn't deserving of his own month.

I bought it around the first of the year. I'm guessing they had it published for X-mas sales.

Blown up, it looks like an 11 on his uniform, indicating Ruben
Yup, it was taken on No Numbers Day, apparently.
I'm thinking it's Red before his hair grew out.

Right, I forgot he did that. He makes the most sense (in the 'who played second/SS' game.) I laugh at these things every year. I always look forward to the first of September to see how stupid they're going to be. Snapfish calendars are simple to make. Zvon should whip up a contemporary one on 12/1 with some of his "KABOOM!" images and what not, market it on #MetsTwitter.

What I'm thinking we should do is put get our photogs and designers and writers together and make a set of 2013 cards just for distribution among ourselves. And then call in our lawyers when MLB and MLBPA come gunning for us.

works for me, my lawyer's a Mets fan. wait, Cards or Calendars? I'd definitely design a card/month and contribute if we're group sourcing this venture.

I figure we can break into some units and get this done by December holidays. W:

So, I'm detecting zero interest, then?

The part about being imprisoned may have turned a few people off.

indeed. some of the low security places even have internet right? So you post here all day anyway. bingo. I've been exhausted and busy with the new house, but I already have a lot of photoshopping planned in my future (I do a more complicated calendar every year) so what's a couple more? There seems to be a couple of places to self-print them: [url]http://www.printfirm.com/trading-card-printing.html [url]http://www.mytradingcards.com/products.aspx?id=blank_trading_cards&cattid=1821

I've been looking to get a community project going here (like the card thang I'm doing, more so for something to do in the off season) so yea, I'd do my part. I'm good with the making. Horrible with the marketing.

It's not even November, 2013 and the 2014 Mets calendar already has an ex-Met.
