Memories of Robert Carson

Adam Rubin reports that Robert Carson has been claimed off waivers by the Angels

I remember seeing the kid pitch as a B-Met in Trenton -

He had flashes of adequacy in the majors, at times.

He's supposed to be a good kid - I wish him well in Ahaheim.

Had good stuff. Not so good results. I wish him well.

Shared a hometown with his spiritual ancestor Bobby Myrick, and arrived in the majors just about the time Myrick died.

Surrendered about as many HRs as innings pitched up here, or seemed to anyway. Can't be relieving like that.

Good luck, Rob.

Looked good initially.
Then not so much.
Too many HRs.
LHPs like him are often interchangeable.

Re: Memories of Robert Carson

Probably the Mets' leading run-producer per AB over his time on the active roster, albeit in the wrong direction. Seemed like a nice guy. Should've worn a better number than 73.

Seemed like a real, real nice guy, especially for a guy who seemed to really like slinging big piles of poop around in front of a paying crowd.

I swear it's true. Everytime he pitched, I thought of this guy.

Not Johnny Carson. This guy.

i think that's BILL Carson, senor.

there are 2 kinds of pitchers in the world... those that get muthafuckas out and those that don't. He don't.

Any pitcher who gives up balls that travel that far should have a stewardess on him.

Wanted to really like him because he seemed like a nice guy on Twitter. Then he gave up a home run to every batter he faced AND then blew two playoff games in the ninth inning in Vegas.

Good luck, Anaheim.
