Veterans Day 2013

On the 11th hour of 11th day of the 11th month in 1918 an armistice was signed to end fighting between the Allied forces and Germany.. November 11th became known as armistice day in 1926 and a national holiday 12 years later. On June 1, 1954 the name was changed to Veterans day and honors all who have served during war and peacetime....and have either survived or perished..Memorial day honors those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.. So, to all who have served... Salute!!!

TJ was leading a patrol outside of his base to search for explosives. They came under attack, and he stayed on point, returning fire, so the rest of the unit could reach safety. He has been put in for a Silver Star. It will not bring him back, but there is some solace in knowing that he died a hero. Later
