You guys catch wind of this? It got dusty in the LWFSCave when I read this one.

About 12,000 people have signed up to help make the boy's fantasy of being a caped crusader come true, thanks to the feel-good story going viral on the Internet. They will cheer on the pint-size champion as he foils elaborately staged, nefarious plots and captures evildoers throughout San Francisco, uh, Gotham.

It's all going down this morning, a few hours from now.

It's been a long week, and I could use a good-mood infusion. You all ever hear about any other similarly-awesome Make-a-Wishes?

yeah, saw that a couple of weeks ago I guess when it was still in the fledgling stages. Very neat.

Re: Make An Awesome, Awesome Wish

The article says the kid has successfully battled his disease. That wish already came true, too.

Re: Make An Awesome, Awesome Wish

My dad once made an arrest of a purse snatcher while he and I (at four years old) were out walking the dog. I frankly wasn't quite sure what was going on, but by the time we got home, folks starting asking me about it, and I was certain I had provided vital assistance in both apprehending and jailing the perpetrator. (In my my mind, he made a break for it, just as he was being thrown in the pokey, and I put a stop to that.)

Which is to say that once this whole thing gets inflated as his imagination gets a hold of him, his mind will be blown. He will required treatment for "Blown Mind Syndrome." Which will mean he'll get another wish.

There are times I wonder and worry about our race as a whole. Then people do something like this and it makes me so proud to be a member.

12,000 people. Damn. I can't mind around the logistics that would require.

Great story, sure but when I put on a superhero costume and go play rescue the damsel in distress, I get arrested and put on a watch list.
