I guess that allows Trout to move back to CF where he goes from super-duper valuable to super-duper-pooper valuable. Freese certainly fell from grace in the eyes of StL. WS hero in 2011, was barely average since.

St.L got a very good CFer, 26, with some power and some speed, who put up good numbers in his 1 full-time season. Freese will be 31, whose 1 good year was not as good as Bourjos'. St.L wins.

I think there's also prospects in this deal but yeah. I don;t think Jay was a championship-level CFer anyway while Bourjos is Lagaresesque

Yeah, watching the Cardinals for a sustained stretch during the post-season I was surprised at how, ummm, how do I put this, 'Not Good' Jay looked defensively. I had thought he was a lot better based on SSS (small sample size) viewings, but he's not that fast, plays very deep in an attempt to compensate, and doesn't throw all that well.
