In order reduced the search for the definitive songs for each day to a digestible, bite-size (indeed, FUN-size!) task, we're working Copa Mundial-style. Five small groups, making for easier reviews. Late entry "St. Monday" takes a surprising lead. And based on my latecoming "one version per artist" rule, I went with the non-band version.

It's a nice song. Deserves the lead and I would rank it #1 of this group. Went with Fats Domino for #2. That Five Man Frenzy song is stupid and I really can't stand arena rock era Fleetwood Mac.

For reasons I can't fully explain, I kind of love arena-rock Fleetwood Mac. It's just such a big fuckin' coked-up mess, and I can't get enough; it just lays me down in the tall grass and I let it do its stuff. But it's Bragg. (Good version, too.)
