Add a Colon to the pitching staff for the next 2 years. Mets just did that.

Put a period on Colon deal: Confirmed by Rubin as 2 for 20.

It was a semi-colon there for a minute.

Looking away from the specific $$, seems to be market value these days.

I'm concerned about his GB% and lack of Ks coupled with a possible Tejada/Murphy/Duda infield defense, plus of course his age.

But they do save 33% of that if he tests positive for PEDs again.

Eats innings (your joke here) and has good control (I'm not making a weight joke). Good move. http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?pl ... P#standard

Re: Met Punctuation

I wonder what Dice-K will wind up with contract-wise because I would have gone that route instead of Colon, especially with the second year, but maybe that's just because I have a prejudice against old, fat ballplayers.
Tough to argue with what he's done over the past two seasons although it does get a bit easier if you look at the couple of campaigns prior to those and prior to when he was taking PEDs.

I'm not going to lie-- this is just like when we elect the dummy I didn't vote for: one part of me is frightened as hell, and the other part is happy for the material. Which we'll need a lot more of, just to make the pants. Because he's portly, Bartolo Colon is.
