Holiday Programming

WPIX-11, I guess the vanguard of the oldies-TV format, is incredibly announcing their intention to air the Magic Garden Christmas Special for the first time in decades, now that the following for the hippy children's puppet show has been reduced to two or three people. More importantly, the WPIX Yule Log will be appearing on Christmas Eve for the first time since 1989: http://pix11.com/2013/12/16/magic-garde ... z2nvn98xH2 Lots of other boutique holiday programming at WPIX, some classic, some weird, perhaps most in the be-careful-what-you-feel-nostalgic-for variety. I mean, Magic Garden?

Carol and Paula! I was too old to enjoy Magic Garden when it was on Channel 11 back in the day, but my sister who's four years younger than me has fond memories of that show.

before my time. The Yulelog is neat, they've been doing it on Christmas I guess, not Christmas eve. On the other hand, it's ridiculously easy to make your own yulelog with your own mix of music, so.. My wife mentioned the o ther day how it's been years since she saw some of the classic christmas specials, but I forgot to keep an eye out and record them. I've got Snoopy and that's it. They must be repeating Frosty and Rudolph and what not this week right? Oh, and I guess I should make her stay awake for It's a Wonderful Life this year..
