The teenage zeitgeist of the time in two minutes ten seconds. Between Jenny and Suzy, the Everlys had some disastrous dates.

Cathy not such a good choice either. Best if they'd stuck with Claudette.

Re: Everly Jukebox

"Claudette" was a song the then-unknown Roy Orbison wrote for his girlfriend. He was on the back-end of a bill with them, and spent as much time as he could shyly hanging around them until finally one of them asked him. "Hey, you're the guy who wrote 'Ooby-Dooby,' right? You have any other songs lying around?"

"Why, yes, as a matter of fact, I do."

The Everlys released it as the flip side to "All I Have to Do Is Dream," but back then, when a song like "AIHtDID" became a monster hit, the DJs started getting bored and flipping it over and playing the B-side, and the B-side would climb the back end of the charts just based on this stray airplay, and since this was a rockin' B-side to a ballad, the DJs did it a lot. Big break for Roy. Song went to #15 country and #30 pop without being an A-side. Roy's career took off from there.

They didn't have such good luck with women, did they?

CBS's 'SUNDAY MORNING' show, and Bill Flanagan in particular, does these kind of tributes particularly well IMO

Is that the Crickets backing them on "Cathy's Clown"?

Re: Everly Jukebox

These two are definitely with the Crickets backing (from a UK show in 1960 claims the source). That brief clip from above could be from the same.

Perfect. Written by McCartney and produced by Edmunds --- two of the biggest Phil Everly wannabees out there.

Wake Up Little Susie has been a frequent answer on crossword puzzles I've done over the years.

Was sure both Everly brothers were already long dead.

Side note: they are both in the same fraternity as I am.
