"Claudette" was a song the then-unknown Roy Orbison wrote for his girlfriend. He was on the back-end of a bill with them, and spent as much time as he could shyly hanging around them until finally one of them asked him. "Hey, you're the guy who wrote 'Ooby-Dooby,' right? You have any other songs lying around?" "Why, yes, as a matter of fact, I do." The Everlys released it as the flip side to "All I Have to Do Is Dream," but back then, when a song like "AIHtDID" became a monster hit, the DJs started getting bored and flipping it over and playing the B-side, and the B-side would climb the back end of the charts just based on this stray airplay, and since this was a rockin' B-side to a ballad, the DJs did it a lot.
