Oakland <3 Washington

The Nats/Ats relationship is starting to get weird. Today they announced that versatile outfielder Corey Brown goes to Oakland (back to Oakland) for multi-position player Cash Kinsiderashins. Brown had previously gone from Oakland to Washington in the Josh Willingham trade back in 2010. But the bigger story is that this is the third trade between these two teams this offseason and the eighth in the last three years. WHAT'S THE DEAL, BILLY BEANE?!

Nor is Corey Brown the first player to get re-traded back to his original team of these two during this span. Catcher Kurt Suzuki: Traded from Oakland to Washington on 8/3/12 Traded from Washington back to Oakland on 8/23/13 (minor leaguer P) AJ Cole: Sent to Oakland in the Gio Gonzalez deal, winter 2011/12 Traded back to Washington in 2013 There may be others as well.
