Films Based on SNL Skits (Split from Dead Thread)

I am not much of a fan Al Franken, and like most, I shake my head at virtually any film developed as an extension of a Saturday Night Live skit (including Wayne's World), but I have huge soft spot for Stuart Saves His Family.

There have no doubt been some horrible SNL skit extension movies -- "Pat" -- but I like "Wayne's World." It's pretty much a collection of set pieces, but there are some good lines in there. Are you counting the Blues Brothers movie in that skit-extension list? (Could probably be a separate thread with a poll)

No, I wasn't counting Blues Brothers. I should have.

Was Deuce Bigalow a skit?, it was an awful movie.

MacGruber is weird, wooly, superprofane, and surprisingly funny.

There are only 2 decent SNL movies that i've seen: The Blues Brothers (1980) and Wayne's World (1992). Both were big hits, too, and spawned sequels. But the rest of the SNL movies were all flops of varying degrees. I actually liked Coneheads (1993) (its got a sort of quirky off-kilter sweetness] but Wayne's World 2 (1993) and Blues Brothers 2000 (1998) are both crap .
