Re: Over and Under 2014

I think the Mets will win more than 71.5 games. (How would one place a bet on this, if one were so inclined? And what does (-115u) mean?)

Re: Over and Under 2014

If you're betting the under, then you win back 100 on a wager of 115. One would guess that, on those particular bets, they're getting a lot of action on the "under," but are loath (or prohibited?) from moving the actual line.

Phillies under, Blue Jays, Red Sox over.

Mets way over.

Mets over.
By how much?
I'll wait for the annual CPF official prediction thread.

Re: Over and Under 2014

As pessimistic as i generally am, i can't see the Mets losing 91+ games this year. They're no worse than they've been the last 4 years (never losing that many over that period), and potentially better. I'll take the over.

Not over/under, but I'm leaving Las Vegas today. I put $20 on the Mets to win the World Series this year at 100:1.

A miracle would make me a cool $2000 in October.

100:1? nice. I only got 66:1 online. (although collection is easier that way I imagine)

Re: Over and Under 2014

Grantland sez that with a whole lotta luck, they might finish as high as third:

New York Mets: How large is Bartolo Colon? Signing a former Cy Young winner who’s coming off a four-WAR season for two years and $20 million is a pretty nice piece of business. Of course, Colon is also almost 41 years old, throws only one pitch, and is, well, spherical. But that’s the pond Sandy Alderson has to fish in now that his owners literally got bilked out of millions in a Ponzi scheme (and no, saying that now is neither less bizarre nor less funny than it was when the news first broke). Alderson also made a few other nice moves this offseason, adding outfielders Chris Young and Curtis Granderson. If a few things break right, including Colon’s voodoo working for another year, the Mets could finish as high as third in the NL East.

Re: Over and Under 2014

they finished third last year and that's an easy bet to happen again.

Re: Over and Under 2014

I see a third place team with possibilities.
