The Mets needed a serviceable arm to throw them toward the end of the 2013 schedule and Aaron Harang's was just that.

He's memorable for not being particularly memorable.

Aaron's a longtime Red that I always think of as a longtime Cardnial. Conflating him with Jeff Suppan or somebody.

That was 2013 that he was with the Mets? Wow! My memories of him are so dim I would have guessed it wasn't nearly so recent.

Aaron Harang was a Met?! I have zero recollection of that. Even with the photographic evidence in this thread, I still checked b-r because I didn't believe you.

Declining and/or released veteran pitchers who hadn't gotten enough innings to hurt themselves during the regular season and therefore are superior to September call-ups are the new market inefficiency.

Pitched modestly effictively --- certainly better than he did with Seattle. But his 5.76 ERA with the Mariners added up to a 5-11 record. His four-start, 3.52 ERA run with the Mets left him 0-1, but all the games were certainly winnable.
