Wheeler vs some guy who NYM bats knocked out in the 1st inning. Wheeler goes 1-2-3 in top 1 Mets respond with a 3-spot in the bottom half: walk, 2B, Granderson HR ... then some more walks and singles and a pitching change and stuff before leaving the sacks loaded Mets bucking recent trends by starting four American-born blacks at the top of the line-up: Young, Young, Granderson & 1B-du jour Brandon Allen

Blowing through game on DVR. Wheeler fastball was nice; the change-- when it showed-- was, surprisingly, even nicer. And in-game Recker appearance-- insouciant, pouty, slouching up against the corner of the dugout like, "What am I leaning against? Whaddaya you got?"-- to boot! BetterHalfer on Recker: "Hmm. Hmm. Nice. How old is he? He's going to age very nicely."
