Improved Search feature

If you're like me (and I'm sure that you hope you're not!) you've been frustrated by the board's embedded search feature. You try to search for something, and you all too frequently get this result:

The following words in your search query were ignored because they are too common words

What was happening was that the search feature was looking at remnants of all posts, including the ones that have been archived, probably dating back to when we first moved to this platform in 2005. I've rebuilt the indexes and now you can search for fairly common terms like "Wright", "Duda", "Davis", "Harvey", "Wilpon", "shortstop" and "pitcher". Previously these terms were resulting in the annoying message quoted above. (Some other words, like "Mets" and "baseball" are still too commonly used.)

I'll have to make a point of refreshing these indexes every once in a while so that the search feature remains more viable than it has been in recent years. I'll certainly try to do this again before another nine years has passed!

Re: Improved Search feature

But can it find Jimmy Hoffa?
Or even Waldo?
