Other than DC being shrouded in fog for a dozen hours, everythings cope so far.

Lots of fog here too, that's about it though, James Joyce died on this day 1941.

I had to give a speech today. When I was driving there, I was wondering what could go wrong.

When I got there, there was no screen, power cord or table for the laptop or projector.
Finally got that straightened out. The talk went well.

Had no idea it was Friday the 13th until I saw this thread just now.

Thanks?

If you believe in things that you don't understand then you suffer

My husband gets paid on the 15th and last days of the month. Or the last workday beofore, should they fall on holidays or weekends.

So today we have $150 less than last paycheck. And they didn't withhold for the flexible medical spending account. What they also screwed up was his withholding from the IRS. It will be fixed, but not until the next paycheck.

I'm not superstitious, just annoyed.

Yes, it sucks. Not completely unexpected as the company had lost some clients recently, but still, sucks.

Poor Hahns, that is the worst luck of all! :(

By the way, we like your book!

Sorry, Hahn.

Thanks for the condolences. You know, until I checked this board earlier, I hadn't even made the Friday the 13th connection. And here I thought James Frey was having a bad week.

To put a positive spin on it, maybe this will get me looking at opportunities I might not have had I still been working.

I add my condolences to HahnSolo.

Completely unrelated:
I got a notice that the final book in A Series of Unfortunate Events will be released on Friday Oct. 13th this year. Just in case there are other addicts like me.

Somewhere in our old archives is the former Wide BeeGee's advice on dealing with unemployment.

Edgy, while I'm joining everyone in wishing Hahn all the best in his search for a new position, please repost it if you can find it.

I'm sorry to hear the news Hahn.

We've all been through that at one time or another. There's nothing about it that doesn't suck. But, hopefully, you'll wind up in a better situation, so the angst will have been worth it.
